Project Details
Richter is commencing the construction of the biotechnological plant in Debrecen’s Industrial Park in 2008. The plant will be ready to commence operations from 2012. The project will assist in presenting biotechnology as a sector adding high value to intellectual standards in Hungary. It is estimated that the plant will create approximately 110 new jobs in the state.
In the initial years, it will be manufacturing drug samples for clinical trials. However, it will be ready for manufacturing for commercial purposes from 2014. The manufacturing facility will comply with the international standards of quality, safety and environmental needs. While the facility will have the provision of manufacturing therapeutic proteins using mammalian and insect cells, it will also be suitable for other technologies adapted with minimal modifications.
