Boltz Collaborates with Takeda to Expand Use of Biomolecular AI Models in Drug Discovery
19 June 2026
Boltz PBC has announced a collaboration with Takeda to deploy its advanced biomolecular artificial intelligence models and platform across Takeda’s research organisation.
The collaboration will provide Takeda’s discovery teams with access to Boltz’s latest proprietary biomolecular foundation models for structure prediction and molecular design, including BoltzMol-1 and BoltzProt-1. The models are designed to support in-silico molecular design and offer capabilities such as structure prediction, affinity estimation and generative design.
As part of the agreement, Takeda researchers will gain access to the Boltz platform through the Boltz Lab interface and the Boltz API. The API can be integrated into existing research workflows and large language model agents, allowing scientists to manage complex design and prediction tasks using natural language.
The partnership will also involve collaboration between Boltz and Takeda scientists on selected research programmes to fine-tune AI models for specific biological targets. Takeda will retain ownership of any compounds generated using the Boltz models and platform.
By combining advanced AI technology with drug discovery research, the collaboration aims to provide Takeda scientists with practical tools to improve structure prediction, molecular design and the progression of discovery programmes. The initiative is expected to support more efficient research processes and help accelerate the development of potential new therapies.
