Flagship Pioneering and ProFound™ Therapeutics, both founded by Flagship, have announced a collaboration aimed at pioneering new treatments for obesity. This partnership represents the first initiative under the Pioneering Medicines strategic alliance between Flagship and Pfizer Inc., established in July 2023.

Pioneering Medicines, Flagship’s dedicated drug discovery and development unit, will spearhead this collaboration, exploring innovative biological platforms and methods to quickly develop new therapeutic options.

ProFound Therapeutics and CEO-Partner at Flagship Pioneering, shared his enthusiasm about the collaboration, noting, "We are eager to contribute to this partnership with Flagship and Pfizer to discover and validate new proteins that could lead to innovative treatments for obesity. In this collaboration, ProFound will apply its ProFoundry Platform in conjunction with Pioneering Medicines' expertise in drug development to discover new proteins and evaluate their potential therapeutic use in treating obesity. After ProFound’s initial validation, Pfizer will have the option to advance selected research programs as part of the strategic partnership with Flagship.
