Rona Therapeutics Raises $35 Million in Series A+ Round to Advance Metabolic siRNA Treatments and Develop New RNA Technologies

Rona Therapeutics, a leading clinical-stage company specializing in nucleic acid drug research and development, has secured $35 million in Series A+ funding. This round was spearheaded by LongRiver Investments, with contributions from Zhaode Investment, BioTrack Capital, Zhongqi Capital, and Lilly Asia Ventures.

As part of this investment, LongRiver Investments will join Rona’s board. They commended Rona Therapeutics for advancing two leading siRNA metabolic programs into global development and for their impressive clinical data and platform value. They are particularly impressed by Rona's progress in expanding siRNA therapies into extrahepatic delivery for the CNS and other areas and are excited to partner with Rona to unlock the potential of RNA medicine for transformative global therapies.

Rona’s pipeline includes several promising siRNA programs derived from their next-generation siRNA technology. The lead program, RN0191, a top-tier PCSK9 siRNA, has completed Phase 1 trials in Australia and China and is preparing for Phase 2 trials for hypercholesterolemia. The company’s second program, RN0361, is set to enter clinical trials in the second quarter of 2024 for hypertriglyceridemia. Additionally, Rona is progressing other innovative programs at the IND-enabling stage targeting kidney disease, obesity, and cardiometabolic disorders.
