Christoph Huwe, Ph.D., CA-AM, is a Strategic Alliance Manager Therapeutics at Bayer AG Pharmaceuticals, with a focus on the Bayer-Evotec Endometriosis, Bayer-Evotec Kidney Diseases, Bayer-OncoMed Oncology strategic alliances, and the Tuberculosis Drug Accelerator consortium. He is also a member of Bayer's Alliance Community Excellence Team. Previously he was responsible for the Bayer-Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry Collaboration (China), and a chemoinformatics platform reengineering project lead collaborating with Tripos (USA). He has served as senior management support at Bayer, as member of the Pharma Industry Benchmarking Forum and the EFPIA Industry Liaison Group. He has held various positions in medicinal chemistry at Bayer (Germany), Berlex Biosciences (USA) and Schering AG (Germany). Christoph Huwe has received a Ph.D. from the Technical University Berlin (Germany), followed by a postdoc at The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla (USA).

With over 15 years’ experience in materials handling and processing, specifically in pharmaceutical applications, Shaun has developed a practical understanding of the challenges faced in the industry – and solutions that are available. Catherine Sabatos-Peyton Interview - Senior Investigator at Novartis
Catherine Sabatos-Peyton, Senior Investigator II, Immuno-oncology, Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research: After graduating from Fordham University with a B.S. in Biology, Catherine spent a year at the University of Oxford on a Fulbright Fellowship, studying the role of the immune system in autoimmune diseases. During her Ph.D. in Immunology at Harvard University, Catherine was part of the team that first described TIM-3, now known as a critical checkpoint protein. Catherine went on to do a short postdoctoral fellowship at UCSF, after which she spent 5 years at the University of Bristol in England, studying the role of IL-10 Tregs in autoimmune control with a fellowship from the UK Multiple Sclerosis Society. Catherine returned to the US and Boston in 2012; she was Director of Immunology at a biotech startup (CoStim Pharmaceuticals) developing therapeutic antibodies against checkpoint proteins for cancer treatment.
Wouter Verdurmen Interview - Researcher at Radboud University Medical Center
Dr. Verdurmen has done his his PhD on the cellular delivery of biomacromolecules at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, focusing on the use of cell-penetrating peptides. After finishing his PhD cum laude, he received a postdoctoral fellowship that he used to join the laboratory of Andreas Plückthun in order to work on developing a quantitative assay for measuring cytosolic delivery, which he then employed to investigate engineered modular protein transport systems.
Dr. Abhinav Shukla Interview - Sr. VP at KBI Biopharma
Abhinav has over 15 years of experience in process development in biopharmaceuticals covering early development through commercial launch. He has led process development activities at both small biopharmaceutical and large pharmaceutical organizations and was most recently the Director, Manufacturing Sciences and Technology at Bristol-Myers Squibb. At BMS, Abhinav led an organization that successfully commercialized Yervoy® and Nulojix® and provided post-commercial process support for Orencia® in addition to other late-stage programs.

ISO IDMP is the next wave in the pharmacovigilance legislation after xEVMPD. But with a global scope and requiring data integration from the entire company it is a much bigger wave. In 2012, the five ISO standards referred to as “ISO IDMP” were approved. Their purpose is to standardise the identification of medicinal products, ultimately leading to improved pharmacovigilance across products, companies and jurisdictions. It has a global scope and in Europe for instance it will take effect by 2016.
