Insilico Medicine and Human Longevity Partner to Develop AI Foundation Model for Longevity Science

Insilico Medicine and Human Longevity have announced a multi-million-dollar collaboration to co-develop what the companies describe as the industry’s first large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) foundation model focused on human longevity science.

The partnership will combine Insilico Medicine’s expertise in generative AI, multimodal foundation models and deep learning systems with Human Longevity’s large-scale biological and clinical datasets. The companies aim to develop advanced AI models capable of analysing the biological processes linked to ageing and supporting predictive healthcare.

The collaboration comes as the global longevity market continues to grow rapidly. According to UBS analysis, the sector is currently valued at around $5.3 trillion and could reach $8 trillion by 2030. AI-driven drug discovery is increasingly being used in ageing research to model biological ageing, predict disease risks and speed up the development of preventive and therapeutic treatments aimed at extending healthy lifespan.

Under the agreement, Insilico Medicine will provide technology support through its multimodal AI foundation model development capabilities and the MMAI Gym training and evaluation framework. This will include model architecture, benchmarking systems, training methods and computational algorithms.

Human Life Foundation Models (HLFM), a newly launched company established by Human Longevity, will combine these tools with Human Longevity’s de-identified multi-omic and clinical datasets. The datasets include genomic, imaging and long-term health information collected from thousands of individuals over more than a decade of research.

The companies expect the jointly developed AI models to support early detection of age-related diseases, predictive health risk analysis and the discovery of AI-driven therapeutics and personalised interventions aimed at extending healthy lifespan. The project also aims to support a shift in healthcare from reactive disease treatment to preventive and proactive longevity science.

Executives from both companies stated that the collaboration is intended to create an advanced AI system capable of identifying disease risks earlier, improving understanding of ageing biology and accelerating the discovery of longevity-focused therapies.

Longevity research has been a key focus for Insilico Medicine since the company was founded. The company has published more than 50 research papers related to ageing, longevity biomarkers and age-related therapeutics since 2014. Recently, Insilico also formed a longevity advisory board chaired by Andrew Adams to support AI-driven ageing research for drug discovery.
