MannKind and Rose Pharma have entered into a worldwide licensing and collaboration agreement to develop ROSE-010 Technosphere, an investigational inhaled GLP-1 therapy for weight management.

ROSE-010 is a rapid-acting, short-duration glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It will be formulated using MannKind’s Technosphere dry-powder inhalation technology. The companies aim to assess whether the inhaled treatment could provide a more flexible approach to weight management.

Under the agreement, Rose Pharma has received an exclusive worldwide licence to use MannKind’s Technosphere technology for the development and commercialisation of ROSE-010 Technosphere. MannKind will provide formulation development and pharmaceutical development services through the completion of a Phase 1b study in weight management.

MannKind will receive an equity interest in Rose Pharma and royalties on potential future net sales of ROSE-010 Technosphere. It will also have representation on Rose Pharma’s board of directors. Rose Pharma will remain responsible for clinical development, regulatory strategy and commercialisation. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The programme is aimed at addressing the need for weight management treatments that may offer greater flexibility to patients. The rapid-acting and short-duration profile of ROSE-010 is designed to allow patients to control when the treatment is active in the body.
A recent patient preference survey involving more than 1,300 adults with obesity reported strong interest in a rapid-acting, short-duration GLP-1 treatment. The research, led by Angela Fitch, MD, FACP, MFOMA, Dipl. ABOM, has been accepted for presentation at ObesityWeek 2026.

Development work will initially focus on re-establishing and optimising the formulation, followed by non-clinical and regulatory-enabling studies. MannKind will provide development and manufacturing support as the programme progresses through Phase 1b.
