The LUXOR Au is a fully automated metal coater that creates an extremely uniform, thin and homogeneous gold layer on your non-conductive material. Renowned for their speedy operation and ease of use, the LUXOR applies a fine gold coating from 1 to 100 nm thickness in a controlled and accurate manner allowing users to get the very best SEM imaging quality from samples.

The LUXOR Au is typically used for SEM imaging applications where sample charging might be an issue. Metal coatings created using LUXOR strongly reduce sample charging by increasing conduction. They improve secondary electron emission, allowing the microscope’s detectors to pick up more hi-res imaging details. Metal coatings also reduce beam penetration, which significantly improves edge resolution and prevent sensitive samples from being damaged.
The unique ‘upside down’ design of the LUXOR Au makes sure that loose particles will be removed during the coating process which helps to protect the SEM from contamination and damage.
