Eriogem (Gemcitabine HCl) is a nucleoside analog that exhibits antitumor activity. Gemcitabine exhibits cell phase specificity, primarily killing cells undergoing DNA synthesis (S phase) and also blocking cell progression across the G1/S phase barrier.

This drug was developed for the treatment of various malignant tumors. The safety and efficacy of this compound has been demonstrated in the treatment of the following types of cancer: Pancreatic cancer, Bladder cancer, Non-small cell lung cancer, Breast cancer and Ovarian cancer.
