Semi-Automatic Inspection Machine

Semi-Automatic Inspection Machine

Semi-Automatic Inspection Machine

Meet the highest quality standards in your pharmaceutical production with our semi-automatic inspection machines. Vials (both liquid and lyophilised), ampoules, cartridges and syringes can be visually inspected at speed.

Find flaws, defects, particles and cosmetic defects at pace, providing a convenient support for high throughput operator inspection. Stringent quality control standards can be guaranteed and inspection completed faster than manual inspection.

Why you need our semi-automatic inspection machines

Discover the benefits of IVS providing your validated visual quality control

Validated Machines

Our semi-automatic inspection machines are designed from the bottom up for medical device and pharmaceutical GMP compliance. We provide the full validation paperwork, as well as adherence to 21CFR Part 11 where applicable.

Maximum Flexibility

Flexible feeding options providing inspection for many different containers shapes and sizes. Ampoules, vials, cartridges, bottles and syringes with volumes from 0.5 to 1000ml can be inspected.

Operator Design

Our designs put the operator first. Maximum support and exceptional ergonomic design provide an easy-to-use operator experience. Prevent fatigue and allow the quick inspection of batches. Latest generation lighting systems reduce eye strain.

Features of our semi-automatic inspection machines

Visual Detection

Quick and precise operator detection can be achieved for a number of safety critical and quality factors including:

  • Contamination and debris particulate
  • Coating fragments in motion or adhering to the bottom/sidewall
  • Air bubbles or inconsistences
  • Major flaws and catastrophic defects
  • Visual defects in primary containers
  • Polymer particles
  • Glass and metallic particles
  • Microscopic cracks, inclusions in the glass or polymer

Safeguard your production and provide customer assurance that your pharmaceutical products are delivered with 100% confidence in quality checking.

Inspection Booth

The inspection booth is ergonomically designed for an operator to set the magnifying lens at the optimum height for their inspection needs. A magnifying lens, combined with special LED lighting and polarising filters allows finite detection of failures, while at the same time examining the entire surface for cosmetic defects. Identify defects at the bottom of containers, sidewalls and cap using adjustable mirrors.

A combination of lighting techniques offers the best possibility of identifying failures. Particles are easily distinguished through the Tyndall effect (light scattering by particles), where particulates glow” from the light refraction. Particulates, fibres and inclusions are seen through the use of both the light background from the backlight and the dark background of the rollers.

Vial and Container Automatic Feeding

A smooth product in-feed on a continuously moving conveyor allows the containers to move lightly into the moving dial plate, reducing glass breakages, and increasing productivity. Vials, ampoules and containers can be brought to the machine on trays for easy transition onto the conveyor.

Servo-driven fast-moving pre-rotation rotates the containers, creating a whirling effect so that particles begin spinning. Products are conveyed through the inspection booth in a continuously moving transport system, consisting of a drive chain system with rollers. Each roller is easily removed, allowing the inspection of a wide range of diameters. Each shaft roller rotates on two precision bearing assemblies. The ergonomic rollers are inclined at an angle to make viewing simple for the operator.

Easy Failure Tracking

Easy, robust tracking of rejected containers as they pass through to the outfeed reject area. The operator views the current container as it passes the magnifying lens. If the operator detects a reject, they mark” the container with a touch interface under the moving conveyor system. An LED feedback bar provides a complete overview of the marked containers with a coloured light marker.

A modern touch-screen HMI allows simple selection of product-specific recipes, automatic switching and tool change requirements for different batches. Allow rapid changeover and continuous quality inspection.
