Roll marking presses are built specifically for marking cylindrical items but can mark continuously down a length too – for example, in Hex Bar identification. The marking system moves the part so that the mark can be placed around the part’s circumference; this can be done on solid or hollow parts, with a diameter of 8mm up to 650mm diameter. The mark is made one character at a time, reducing the amount of force required to create a mark.
Roll marking systems are an economical solution for applications where tonnage requirements make a press marker too costly.
We have manual, electrical or electro-pneumatic models available, and custom holders and numbering heads can be supplied for these machines. We can also accommodate and manufacture any special requirements for your specific needs.
Roll Coders
Roll coders are designed for printing materials as they pass by on a conveyor line.
The printer uses the friction of the passing items to trigger printing. Messages of up to 600mm can be quickly assembled with individual characters or logotypes (multi-character strips) for convenience. As the print wheel rotates, ink is applied to the printing dies with an ink roller for clear and even printing. Various character sizes are available, as well as custom-built, multi-wheel options. Inexpensive, interchangeable characters are easily replaced, while disposable ink rollers give you thousands of impressions for a low-cost, effective solution.
