Introduction:

Adare Pharma Solutions, a global technology-driven CDMO specializing in oral dosage forms, has initiated expansion work to enhance packaging capabilities and increase warehousing capacity at its Pessano facility in Milan, Italy.

Features:

The expansion includes a two-story, 2,800 square-meter extension that will house a new packaging line in a purpose-built packaging hall. The state-of-the-art Marchesini Integra 220S MA260 packaging line will primarily package tablets and capsules into Aclar, Triplex, PVC, PVDC, and ALU/ALU blisters. This machine features integrated Robocombi 'pick and place' and serialization capabilities and can package over 50 million blisters annually. The new packaging line is expected to be operational by Q4 2024.

Additionally, the Pessano site expansion includes a 1,000 square-meter warehouse with a capacity for 900 pallets, and space allocated for a second packaging line to meet future demands.

The 20,400 square meter Pessano facility offers R&D services that accelerate formulation and process development, ensuring a seamless transition to manufacturing. It can produce a wide range of solid dosage forms at both clinical and commercial scales, including granules, capsules, and tablets. The facility is also equipped to handle controlled substances and organic solvents.
