Introduction:

AstraZeneca, a leading science-based biopharmaceutical company, has announced plans to expand its advanced Global Hub in Bangalore, further strengthening its operations in India.

Features:

The expanded hub will accommodate around 1,300 employees, including 400 new roles, supporting AstraZeneca’s work in AI-driven innovation across Research and Development, Global Business Services, IT, and Digital Health.

This marks AstraZeneca’s second major investment in India within a year, following the recent growth of its Global Innovation and Technology Centre (GITC) in Chennai.

With this expansion, the workforce of AstraZeneca India Private Limited (AZIPL) will grow to nearly 4,000 employees, enhancing the company’s ability to deliver life-changing medicines worldwide.

The Bangalore hub is designed to meet LEED Platinum standards and currently runs on 75% renewable energy. It also features full wastewater recycling and IoT-enabled systems for efficient energy management.
