Nova Laboratories

Nova Laboratories was established in 1994 by a group of ex-NHS pharmacy staff, and we continue to be privately owned and funded. Nova operates under MHRA licences in the following five business areas:
The initial focus of our business was the supply of sterile and non-sterile compounded products (Specials) to hospitals, community pharmacies and other healthcare professionals throughout the UK and Eire, and this continues to form an important part of our current business. Our continuing involvement in ‘Specials’ compounding has since enabled us to develop a pipeline of licensed, hospital-use products as alternative presentations of long established drugs.
However, from its inception, Nova Laboratories also provided sterile and non-sterile clinical trials medication to a global customer base of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, academic and charitable institutions, as well as the NHS. In particular, we have developed extensive expertise in the use of high-integrity, gassed isolator technology (acknowledged by regulators as ‘Advanced Aseptic Technology’). Our ability to perform complex and novel aseptic processes has resulted in clinical manufacturing of parenterals and devices becoming the largest and fastest growing of our manufacturing activities, and has also allowed us to develop commercial manufacturing processes for specialist sterile products.
