The Iatroscan TLC/FID chromatograph is manufactured by LSIM, Japan and sold in India by Anchrom since 1978. It combines the advantages of separation by TLC (of non-volatiles) with detection by FID (popular detector in GC). It is most ideally suited for SARA analysis i.e., Saturates, Aromatics, Resins and Asphaltenes found in petroleum oil. It is an official method (IP-469). Most petroleum industry research and refining units in India have installed the same.Bio lipids is another area of great interest.
