Blood and Plasma - A special juice

Blood and Plasma - A special juice

Blood is considered an independent organ with living cells and, like any other organ, has specific functions. Blood can only be produced by the body itself and cannot be produced artificially.
Our amount of blood is about eight percent of body weight. This corresponds to about five to six liters for adults.
Above all, the blood takes on the task of a complex transport and logistics system: it simultaneously delivers essential raw materials such as oxygen, nutrients and proteins to the organs, but also energy in the form of sugar and fats. 100 ml of blood contains as many calories as a bar of chocolate. But repair material is also made available quickly, e.g. B. Coagulants that instantly seal a “leak” in place if it occurs. Furthermore, it transports immune cells that constantly look for invaders (bacteria or viruses) and eliminate them. The body's own waste disposal is also organized: carbon dioxide or toxic metabolic products are reliably removed. Various blood components are responsible for these complex blood functions.
