Introduction

Johnson & Johnson, a leading and comprehensive healthcare innovation company, today announced an investment of more than $1 billion to build a next-generation cell therapy manufacturing plant in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

The new plant will expand the company’s U.S. manufacturing capacity as it strengthens its industry-leading portfolio and pipeline of transformative medicines for cancer, immune-mediated, and neurological diseases.

Through this development, Johnson & Johnson continues to invest in advanced manufacturing technologies and workforce training, supporting the growth of skills required for next-generation medical innovations. The plant is expected to create more than 500 skilled biomanufacturing jobs once fully operational, along with over 4,000 construction jobs during the development phase.

The company currently operates ten sites in the state, spanning over two million square feet across manufacturing, research, distribution, and office operations.
