Oktal Pharma d.o.o. Croatia was founded in 1992 as a privately-owned limited liability company registered for trade and services. It works with roughly 400 local and foreign suppliers and roughly 1,400 customers (pharmacies and specialised shops, drugstores, drug wholesalers, private doctors' offices and clinics, public health centres, hospitals, institutes, and opticians), distributing around 13,500 various products.Since 2001, Oktal Pharma has expanded its business activities to the markets of neighbouring countries by establishing branches in Slovenia (OPH Oktal Pharma Ljubljana), Serbia (Oktal Pharma d.o.o. Belgrade), Bosnia and Herzegovina (Oktal Pharma doo Sarajevo), Hungary (Oktal Pharma Hungary Kft. Budapest) and Northern Macedonia (Oktal Pharma DOOEL Skopje), thus strengthening export activities within the Oktal Pharma Group.The Oktal Pharma group also operates the Vaše zdravlje pharmacy chain, with more than 30 individual pharmacies that make significant contributions to the company's overall business results. The company continuously invests in developing its logistics capacities, technologies, processes, and employees in accordance with trends in the pharmaceutical industry in order to offer the most efficient, best service to users, partners, and supply chain partners. In order to ensure the continuity of high quality business and environmental protection according to the demands and expectations of its business partners, customers, suppliers, patients, healthcare workers, employees, and all other stakeholders, Oktal Pharma has developed and implemented an integrated quality system according to the HRN EN ISO 9001:2015 and HRN EN ISO 14001:2015 norms, as well as good manufacturing practices in the production and sales of medicines and medical products.Oktal Pharma actively participates in developing the pharmaceutical and medical product supply chain in Croatia, and as one of Croatia's leading pharmaceutical wholesalers, it has implemented all business and organisational changes necessary to receive DDP/GDP and DPP/GMP cetificates. On the basis of this achievement, it became a member of the European Healthcare Distribution Association registered with the European Medicines Agency (EudraGMDP – EMA).Since its founding, Oktal Pharma has developed partnerships with international pharmaceutical companies, to whom it offers marketing and sales services, including market research, product registration, promotional activities, warehousing and distribution services, and other logistics and administrative services in accordance with their needs.In addition to its wholesale distribution activities, Oktal Pharma Croatia represents more than thirty pharmaceutical companies from Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary (since 2017) and Northern Macedonia (since 2019). In cooperation with its business partners, it distributes a wide range of drugs, medical products, cosmetics, OTCs, and other human health products to customers in both Croatia and the greater region.Thanks to the development of its wholesale business and the strengthening of its position on the market through the development of its services and investments in both its business and the knowledge and competencies of its employees, the Oktal Pharma group has realised a strategic partnership with the Walgreens Boots Alliance with a share of 49 %, thus becoming a member of this leading global pharmaceutical and health products wholesale company.
