A Legacy of Innovation and Technological Excellence
The corporate philosophy of “turning science into solutions“ stands for what Sartorius has been accomplishing for over 140 years day in, day out: Utilizing the latest scientific expertise to manufacture innovative products. It all started at the University of Goettingen when former “university mechanician” Florenz Sartorius laid the cornerstone for the company. In 1870, Sartorius went into business by setting up his precision mechanical workshop, "Feinmechanische Werkstatt F. Sartorius." His pioneering invention – the short-beam analytical balance – revolutionized work in research labs. In 1927, together with the chemistry Nobel Prize Laureate Richard Zsigmondy, Sartorius established the limited liability company “Membranfiltergesellschaft mbH”. The membranes invented by Zsigmondy were the basis for the development of membrane filtration – and for today’s bioprocess business at Sartorius. Even to this day, weighing and filtration are the core technologies within Sartorius’s wide product array.

Configurable Single-Use System
FlexAct® configurable single-use systems enable you to custom-configure single-use solutions for entire biomanufacturing steps such as buffer preparation (BP), cell harvest (CH), virus inactivation (VI), media preparation (MP) and virus removal (VR). The configurable single-use systems offer the widest variety of configuration options and allow for complete control of practically any step in upstream and downstream processing.
Liquid Filters
Liquid filters in several designs. Choose between sterile filters, prefilters, and membrane filters. Our filter capsules and filter cartridges are suitable for several applications from screening in cell harvest and clarification to bioburden and particle reduction. Sartorius liquid filters are the product of choice for branches such as the pharma or food and beverage industry.
Containers
The storage & shipping tanks split into two sections, the containers and rack systems and the drug delivery systems. Containers and rack systems are available for the storage and processing of biopharmaceutical fluids, fluid management control in the biopharmaceutical process or the secure and convenient shipment of sterile bulk pharmaceutical fluids. The drug delivery systems are ready to use and amongst others suitable for the preparation of total parenteral nutrition.
