Pharma Reverse Osmosis

Pharma Reverse Osmosis

OPERATING PRINCIPLE

Reverse osmosis is similar to the membrane filtration treatment process. However, there are fundamental differences between reverse osmosis and filtration. The main removal mechanism in membrane filtration is forced, with exclusion by size, so the process can theoretically achieve perfect exclusion of some particles without considering operational parameters such as pressure and concentration. Reverse osmosis works by using pressure to push a solution across a membrane, holding the solute on one side and allowing the pure solvent to pass through to the other. This is the inverse of the normal osmosis process, which is the natural movement of the solvent from an area of low solute concentration, across a membrane,

A reverse osmosis system can be configured as follows:

Pretreatment : Necessary for the removal of particles that can damage membranes and free chlorine.Reverse Osmosis: Reverse osmosis removes up to 97% of dissolved inorganic compounds and more than 99% of organic compounds, colloids and particles. Reverse osmosis also allows for excellent removal of microbial species. It is available in both single and double pass.

EDI : The Continuous Electro Deionization module uses ion exchange resins mainly as a bridge to allow electric current to pass through the deionization cell.

Liqui-Cel® Membrane Contactors degassing systems are used to remove dissolved gases in water, such as O 2 and CO 2 .

CONSTRUCTION FEATURES

The PRORO series by GDN is the result of more than 40 years of experience and constant technological development in the construction of machinery for pharmaceutical use. The machines are entirely built in AISI 316 L stainless steel with pickled and passivated active surface.

Our machines comply with the strictest standards of the Pharmacopoeia and the guidelines of CGMP, GAMP and FDA.
